Alfonse Napolitano, native of Parsippany, New Jersey began dancing at the age of six. He recently received his Bachelor of Arts from Montclair State University in Dance Education (K-12 NJ Certified), as well as completed the credits for the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. In spring of 2020, he was awarded Outstanding Senior from the department. While attending, he had the opportunity to study under Lauren Grant, Lynne Grossman, Sharon Hockstein, Christian von Howard, Nancy Lushington, and more. He has performed in works by Joshua Manculich, Shapiro and Smith, Camille A. Brown, Martha Graham, Alwin Nikolias, Fredrick Earl Mosley, Sara Hook, Maxine Steinman, and more. He has performed in venues such as 92nd Street Y, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the studios at New York City Center, The Joyce Theater, Madison Square Garden, as well as the Clubs at Houston Oaks. Alfonse has performed in venues throughout the country in NJ, NY, TX, and NC. He is an experienced teacher and choreographer of all age groups. Napolitano has also won multiple awards for his choreography and performances at many competitions on regional, national, and world levels. He has taught at multiple studios throughout NJ, NY, and MA. In 2018, he was awarded the Frances Chalif Award for Excellence in Dance on the local level. He received his May O’Donnell Technique certification in July of 2019. During the summer of 2019, Alfonse participated in a summer intensive with the world renowned company Diavolo: Architecture in Motion. This inspired him to create his senior thesis entitled, forma which recently performed in Dumbo’s 2021 Virtual Dance Festival. In June of 2021, Alfonse performed in the first WhirlWind Dance concert by Joshua Manculich in Hockley, Texas. Alfonse has also toured the Caribbeans and Europe/ Greek Isles with Norwegian Cruise Lines performing in a pop-country concert, a 70s revue dance show, as well as SWING! The Musical where he was Co-Dance Captain. Most recently, Alfonse has worked with Daniel Gold and Patti Crumrine at Six Flags dancing for their infamous Dead Man’s Party Halloween show.
