Bio
Dr. Wontae Son completed his Ph.D. in Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1995. Upon graduation, he began his career with Samsung SDS as a Business and Strategy Consultant. He worked at Samsung for 20 years, working primarily in corporate strategy, planning, and global business development. Dr. Son was a leading business strategist in the US market. He ensured the first US and South American clients for the company's products and solutions, as well as multiple sizable contracts awarded through innovative and creative strategies. Dr. Son had run a business advisory company in Silicon Valley, where he established the go-tomarket plans and executed market entrance strategies for Korean companies entering the US market. Dr. Son first joined the Department of Management at Montclair State University as an adjunct professor in 2017, and changed to an instructional specialist and an assistant professor in 2019. In addition to his full-time duties at Montclair, Dr. Son serves as a business advisor of IT services companies such as JLM Systems, Brainer Consultancy, and others.
