Dean J. Wantland has more than 35 years experience in health care quality improvement, health care information management and nursing. He has developed web-based content for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Innovations Exchange, and conducted interviews and helped in in the development of a comparative assessment process for the Department of Defense and Veteran’s Health Administration’s pilot disability evaluation system for veterans wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq. Dr. Wantland has extensive experience in nursing research, nursing practice and coordination of research studies involving HIV/AIDS and hypertension and heart failure patients. He worked as a research associate with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and has authored numerous publications and presented findings on comparative assessment and evaluation. Dr. Wantland has studied and published manuscripts using advanced statistical design focusing on multilevel models to assess longitudinal change over time.
