Profile
Susan Dadian is an adjunct professor at Montclair State University's Cali School of Music since 2017. She teaches the Performance Entrepreneurism course for instrumental performance majors.
Ms. Dadian is the Director of Artistic Planning at Chamber Music America (CMA), the national network for the chamber music field. She came to CMA in 2002 from the New Jersey Chamber Music Society, where she served as executive director. Since her arrival, she has worked with hundreds of classical and jazz ensembles, concert presenters and composers helping them to realize their creative work. She directs CMA’s Classical Commissioning, Ensemble Forward, and Thea Musgrave Performance Fund grant programs and administers the Cleveland Quartet Award program. She provides career and grant-related consultations and plays a central role in curating the organization's national conference and jazz convenings, as well as programming industry-related seminars for professional musicians.
Ms. Dadian is an active panelist and speaker and has served as an adjudicator for many leading arts organizations, including the New Jersey Council on the Arts, Massachusetts Cultural Council, Arts Mid-Hudson, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, APAP Young Performers Career Advancement, and CEC Artslink. She often speaks to student groups at institutions such as New York University, the Juilliard School of Music, Aaron Copland School of Music, and many others.
A classical guitarist, she received her B.F.A. degree in music history from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and did graduate work at the Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan, Armenia.
