Profile

Dr. T. David Hsu is the assistant director at the New Jersey Center for Water Science and Technology (NJCWST), Montclair State University. He has received extensive training in both life and environmental sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. in environmental sciences from the Ohio State University. His doctoral research emphasized on microbial water quality examinations to investigate both ecosystem service and potential concerns in urban wetlands from a public health perspective. He conducts water quality and environmental research from a multidisciplinary perspective, with emphasis on environmental microbiology, molecular ecology, geographic information sciences, and spatial data analysis. His current projects range from fecal indicator bacteria enumeration, microbial source tracking, and cyanobacteria and cyanotoxin quantification. He also manages an NJDEP-certified water analysis laboratory at NJCWST and serves as a L2 Coordinator for the North Atlantic Aquatic Connectivity Collaborative (NAACC).
