Profile

As the Theatre Education Program Assistant, I specialize in Theatre Education with a focus on preparing the next generation of theatre educators for success in K–12 settings. As the instructor of the Theatre Teaching Methods course, I guide students through a comprehensive exploration of teaching methodologies and curricular and co-curricular instructional strategies tailored to theatre arts education.
Emphasis is placed on pedagogical approaches, practical resources, and diversified techniques for building and sustaining theatre programs, particularly at the middle and high school levels. Students develop a strong foundation in the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Visual & Performing Arts, along with skills in sequential curriculum design, unit and lesson planning, and standards-based instruction.
Through hands-on, practice-based learning experiences, I assist students in refining their individual teaching philosophies while engaging in activities that mirror the real-world responsibilities of theatre educators. This applied approach ensures that graduates are classroom-ready and equipped to foster inclusive, creative, and student-centered learning environments.
In addition to being an adjunct professor, I serve as a Clinical Mentor, supporting theatre education interns as they complete required observations for a CEAS certification. In this role, I provide targeted feedback, mentorship, and professional guidance, helping candidates successfully transition from preparation to employment in the field of theatre education.
