Jason Strother has taught courses in the School of Communication and Media and it's predecessor departments since 2011. He's instructed both on campus as well as online and created the electivesHow To Become a Foreign Correspondent, Films About Journalism and Disability in Media. He is a member of the universities Disability Caucus and heads it's access work group.
Mr. Strother began his career in journalism in local television news in New York City before moving to South Korea to work as a freelance, multimedia reporter. He's filed dispatches from around a dozen countries for American and International newspapers, magazines, radio networks and video platforms. He is also a 2020 National Geographic Explorer.
Mr. Strother holds an MA in international relations from the University of Kent's Brussels school of International Studies and is a 2003 graduate of Montclair State University, where he was the first student with a visual impairment to earn a BA in Broadcasting.
