Bilingual/Bicultural Education Teacher Certification

Teacher Certification

A student engages in a class project at Montclair State University.

Every student deserves to thrive – no matter their language background – and Montclair’s Bilingual/Bicultural Education Teacher Certification program will give you the tools to teach with impact.

This 12-credit program is designed for certified teachers who want to expand their expertise and become leaders in multilingual classrooms, and leads to the New Jersey Bilingual/Bicultural Education Endorsement. You can take it fully online and Montclair offers several partnerships with regional school districts.

In just one year, you’ll learn how to support Multilingual Learners by building on their home language and culture, helping them acquire English, and empowering them to succeed academically and socially.

Through coursework focused on bilingual teaching methods, cultural responsiveness, and second language acquisition, you’ll become an expert in creating inclusive, high-impact learning environments. And because the program is fully online and designed for working professionals, you can level up your career on a schedule that works for you.

Whether you’re already working in a bilingual setting or want to open new doors in your teaching career, this certification program will prepare you to make a real difference – in your school and in your students’ lives.

If you’re ready to grow professionally in the high-demand field of multilingual education, Montclair’s Bilingual/Bicultural Education certification is the next step.
