Profile
Christina Paolucci is a dedicated dance educator, administrator, and mentor whose career spans professional performance, higher education, and arts leadership. She currently serves as Adjunct Ballet Faculty and Admissions Coordinator for Dance in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Montclair State University, where she has been a member of the faculty since 2016. In this dual role, she provides rigorous classical ballet training to undergraduate dance majors while also coordinating many aspects of the dance program’s admissions process.
In addition to her work in the studio and admissions, she is an Academic Success Coach with Montclair’s Center for Academic Success and Tutoring, where she mentors students in developing effective learning strategies, personal accountability, and habits that support academic and personal growth. Her commitment to student success, both in the studio and out, extends beyond technique, emphasizing holistic development, belonging, and resilience.
Her teaching philosophy is deeply informed by her extensive professional background. She performed with companies including New York Theatre Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, and The Tallahassee Ballet, and appeared as a guest artist in numerous productions nationwide. She later transitioned into leadership roles, serving as Associate Artistic Director and Executive Director of New York Theatre Ballet, where she helped guide the organization’s artistic and administrative vision.
Throughout her career, Christina has maintained an active presence in the broader dance community as a guest teacher, adjudicator, and rehearsal director. She has been invited to work with festivals, studios, and arts organizations nationwide, as well as serve on panels and adjudicate for regional and state arts programs. Her ability to communicate high-level technical concepts with clarity and precision has made her a respected voice in dance education.
Known for her clarity, musicality, and commitment to excellence, Christina brings both discipline and empathy into the classroom, creating an environment where dancers are challenged and supported.
She holds a BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School, where she was a Jerome L. Greene Fellow, and maintains multiple certifications in contemporary training methodologies, including Progressing Ballet Technique and Revolutionary Principles of Movement. She continues to engage in professional development focused on inclusive pedagogy and student success.
With a career rooted in both artistry and education, Christina Paolucci is passionate about preparing the next generation of dancers and fostering meaningful, transformative experiences in the performing arts.
