Film and Television

Montclair’s Film and Television program will prepare you to create bold, original content for today’s multi-platform world. From screenwriting and storyboarding to live-action shooting, digital editing, and streaming, you’ll learn the full production process — from concept to screen.

You’ll take courses in writing, directing, sound design, and audio production while exploring how to create compelling content for film, television, and digital devices. Whether you’re producing newscasts, commercials, dramatic series, or live webcasts, you’ll develop the creative and technical skills needed to bring your vision to life.

Throughout the program, you’ll build a strong foundation in both the creative and theoretical sides of the industry. You’ll learn to think critically about media, including using AI tools, while gaining hands-on experience in production in studio and remote environments.

You’ll also have access to real-world opportunities, including internships at major studios and networks, and work on student productions aired on cable and streaming through Hawk+ – the first student-run streaming network on a college campus in the country.

If you’re ready to tell stories that connect with audiences and shape the future of film and television, this is the program for you. See the curriculum.
