Dr. John Berger is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Biology and Chemistry at County College of Morris. Dr. Berger is a natural product chemist with interests in the isolation, characterization and synthesis of secondary metabolites from organisms. His theses and published works include isolation, characterization & synthesis of topoisomerase inhibitors (potential anticancer & antifungal compounds); development of a HPLC-MS method for determining metallo-b-lactamase inhibitor activity; computational and NMR measurements of b-lactam folding in aqueous solutions; and the effect of UV depleted light on the biosynthesis of flavonols.
