Advisement

The mission of the Office of Teacher Education Advisement and Retention is to provide our teacher education candidates with the information, guidance, and support needed to meet the requirements necessary for both degree completion and state certification. Our office is committed to high-quality advisement services that are tailored to the unique needs of our students for their ultimate success.

Students who have been fully admitted to the undergraduate teacher education program, including transfer students, should schedule an appointment with one of our academic program advisors through the Navigate links below. Please note: Students who have not yet been admitted to the Teacher Education Program, or new freshmen who have been conditionally matriculated into the Teacher Education Program who seek information about the program, the application process or the required prerequisite courses, must contact the Office of Teacher Education Admissions, Recruitment and Diversity at TEadmissions@montclair.edu or call 973-655-7976.

Hours of Operation

Teacher Education Students Services is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m-4:30 p.m. After hours’ appointments are available for candidates if employment or travel prevents one from getting to campus during normal business hours. These appointments are scheduled upon request and at the mutual agreement of the advisor and student.
