With a deep commitment to service and empowerment, Professor Gill dedicates her career to supporting students, educators, and communities as they adapt to an ever-changing world. As a Professor of Communication for twenty years, she has taught classes such as Fundamentals of Speech, Communication and Media Studies, Small Group Communication and Business and Professional Communication, and more. Currently, Professor Gill’s role as Program Coordinator for the Fundamentals of Speech Program in the College of Communication and Media facilitates her goal to establish the foundation for a supportive environment where students and faculty can thrive academically and personally within the program.

Gill’s service extends to advisory and board roles at Montclair State University and the Newton School District, where she has worked as an instructor, student organization advisor, and local school board member. These experiences have allowed her to champion initiatives that strengthen community bonds and foster practical skill development.

Certified in Mental Health First Aid, she is also a member of the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children and the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation. These affiliations reflect her dedication to student well-being, inclusive learning, and meaningful civic engagement.

In her free time, Professor Gill enjoys spending time with her family, including her three cats and black lab, bird watching, reflecting on current political culture and traveling to Ireland, where she lived and studied for five years.

Gai Grannon is an Instructional Specialist in the Fundamentals of Speech program for the College of Communication and Media at Montclair State University.  She teaches several sections of Fundamentals of Speech each semester and is one of the consultants for the Montclair State Speech Resource Center.  For the past 17 years, she was an Adjunct Professor at the University, teaching both regular length and accelerated versions of the Fundamentals of Speech course. She has also taught a public speaking course at Ramapo College, and several acting courses at the University of Michigan.

During the 1990s, Ms. Grannon directed many high school musicals, working with students solo and in groups on many aspects of delivery and performance.  She has privately coached several corporate executive clients.  A recent client was the keynote speaker at a national strategic summit for the Direct Marketing Association.  She currently also works as a voice over artist, and is well versed in utilizing a variety of vocal and physical delivery techniques.

Amanda Saintina

Amanda Saintina is a digital content producer at ABC7NY and a freelance producer at News 12NJ. She graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor’s in Communication and Media Studies and is now pursuing a Master’s in Strategic Communications and Media. During her early career, Amanda has published articles, shot and edited feature stories, and interviewed celebrities at various red carpet events. She won first place in the School of Communication Media and Journalism’s Speech contest and is excited to bring her knowledge to students and help them fight anxiety in public settings. She is also a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and when she is not working or creating content, you can find her at the gym or bonding with her sisters.
