Educational Opportunity Fund Program (EOF)

Montclair State University’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) with funding from the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education supports highly motivated low-income New Jersey first-year and transfer scholars from historically excluded populations of students who meet the state income criteria and exhibit the potential for high achievement to engage in a mandatory Summer Academy, academic advising, academic support and a host of other co-curricular programs.

Health Careers Program (HCP)

The Health Careers Program (HCP), funded jointly by Montclair State and the NJ Educational Opportunity Fund, prepares highly motivated and academically capable students from financially and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds an opportunity for admission to health professions schools (medical, dental, optometry, podiatry, osteopathic and veterinary) and other careers in the sciences and health.

Academic Launch (ALP)

Montclair State University’s Academic Launch program supports highly motivated low-income scholars from historically excluded populations of students who have financial need and exhibit the potential for high achievement. Scholars engage in a mandatory Summer Academy, academic advising, academic support, and a host of other co-curricular programs.

The Knowledge is Power Program and Montclair State University provides joint scholarship funding primarily for low income first-generation Essex County scholars including a required Summer Bridge program, academic advising and a host of other co-curricular programs.

The Cooperman Scholars Program (CSP)

The Cooperman Scholars Program and Montclair State University provides joint scholarship funding primarily for low income first-generation Essex County scholars including a required Summer Bridge program and faculty mentorship.

The Give Something Back Program (GSB)

The Give Something Back Program and Montclair State University’s partnership provides full scholarships primarily for low income first-generation scholars who are academically motivated and resilient with special consideration for scholars who have experienced heightened social risks such as foster care or the incarceration of a parent.

Upward Bound (UB)

The Montclair State University Upward Bound Project (UB) is a federally funded TRIO Program, established by the U.S. Department of Education, delivering educational opportunities for currently enrolled high school students from low-level income families and/or who are potential first-generation college attendees from Paterson, New Jersey. UB provides fundamental support for participants to succeed in their current level of education and prepare them for their pursuit of higher education. The goal of UB is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education, enroll and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

Upward Bound

Future College Graduate Institute: Newark High School Dual Enrollment Program:

The IREPO and OSHE funded Future College Graduate Dual Enrollment Institute is a curricular/co-curricular dual-enrollment and college access partnership to improve college preparedness and career exploration, and strengthen the enrollment pipeline for Newark Board of Education high school scholars. Successful completion of the Dual Enrollment Partnership creates a pathway to automatic admission to Montclair via one of four Summer Bridge programs (EOF/HCP/AL/COOP). Ultimately scholars who successfully complete the dual enrollment program as well as the summer bridge (6-7 credits) will have the opportunity. to earn up to 19 credits prior to their initial fall semester at Montclair, or up to 12 credits if they choose to enroll at another institution.
