As our representation has increased at Montclair State University–reaching 40% of undergraduate students in Fall 2022–we have created a group that provides opportunities for networking among Hispanic/Latinx alumni and to extend relationships with current and future Montclair students.
In February 2021, we launched the Hispanic/Latinx Alumni Network at Montclair State University and hosted several virtual events. We hosted two focus groups in December 2022 to get feedback from alumni on what kinds of engagement and activities they would like to participate in.
We are very excited to provide a space to connect the past, present and future Montclair familia! Events and opportunities will be developed such as networking events, advocacy of Hispanic/Latinx causes (including students, staff and faculty), development of a Mentoring Program, resource exchange opportunities, and social events. We welcome your participation as we work together to ensure that the voices of the Montclair State University Hispanic/Latinx constituency are heard and contribute to the advancement of the community.
We are currently planning an in-person HLAN Spring Meeting and Networking event.
