University Garners 10 MarCom Awards

Montclair State University Communications was once again recognized for its creative output in publications, digital media, writing and photography with four platinum and six gold MarCom Awards, as well as five honorable mentions in the 2017 competition.

An international creative competition sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing Communications Professionals, the MarCom Awards recognize outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of marketing and communication materials and programs. A list of the Montclair State winners follows:

Platinum MarCom Awards, the highest honor, were awarded to:

  • “To Sir With Love,” Laura Griffin (print creativity/magazine writing)
  • “Soldiers’ Fields,” Steve Politi (print creativity/magazine writing)
  • Insights, the University Communications Team (publications/external newsletter – educational institution)
  • RN to BSN Product Launch, Team (strategic communications – marketing/promotion campaign)

Gold MarCom Awards, were awarded to:

  • Montclair magazine, Fall 2016, Team (publications/magazine – educational institution)
  • Montclair magazine, Spring 2017, Team (publications/magazine – educational institution)
  • “Changing Lives,” Laura Griffin (print creativity/magazine writing)
  • Forward Thinking, Team (external newsletter – educational institution)
  • Digital Media, Montclair magazine, Rudy Crespo (digital media/e-magazine)
  • Montclair Bound, Team (print creativity/design – newsletter)

Honorable mentions:

The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals is a 23-year-old international organization comprising several thousand creative professionals and the MarCom Awards is one of the oldest and largest creative competitions in the world. The 2017 MarCom Award winners were selected from more than 6,000 entries in 300 categories in print, web, video and strategic communications.
