Women’s Basketball Advances in NCAA Tournament

Red Hawks move to sectionals with win over Gettysburg

The Montclair State University women’s basketball team advanced to the third round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship with a 70-45 victory over Gettysburg College in the tournament’s second round on Saturday, March 3.

Senior guard Katie Sire, the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Year, led the Red Hawks with a game-high 26 points in the win. Taylor Harmon and Kate Tobie added 14 and 13 points respectively to help the Red Hawks advance to the round of 16.

Montclair State will face Amherst College in its round of 16 matchup on Friday, March 9. Tipoff for the contest is scheduled for 7 p.m.
