Montclair State University’s efforts to ensure the health and well-being of students, faculty and staff received a boost with a gift of 165,000 units of 3.38-ounce bottles of hand sanitizer from My Sales LLC, a wholesale distribution company based in Edison, New Jersey.

The idea for the gift came about when Mimi Feliciano, Founder and CEO of FEM Real Estate, learned through an acquaintance that My Sales had donated hand sanitizer to the Red Cross and area food banks. Feliciano, an Advisory Board member of the Mimi and Edwin Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University as well as Board Member of the University’s Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, suggested that a supply of travel-sized hand sanitizers would be great for distribution to students on campus.

The acquaintance reached out to his nephew-in-law, Manny Mukhtarov, sales manager at My Sales. The company responded with 26 pallets – at least a year’s supply – of hand sanitizer.

“We just want to help everyone stay safe,” Mukhtarov says.

Mukhtarov also credits the company’s owner, Kevin Zhang, for the gift. “Montclair State is part of our community, and we are here to help,” he adds.

Shawn Connolly, vice president for University Facilities, says the hand sanitizer will be distributed through every academic department, student group, administrative and campus program office.

“Our plan is to get these bottles in the hands of as many people as we can in the campus community,” Connolly says. “I am confident that the donation from My Sales LLC will contribute to the safety and success of the semester.”
