Living on Campus

‌Montclair State’s Office of Residential Education & Services is committed to making on-campus living a meaningful part of your educational experience. From structured activities sponsored by residence hall staff and councils to impromptu informal gatherings, we encourage personal growth, responsibility and a sense of community!

Facilities

Montclair’s residential facilities include traditional double-loaded corridors and suites as well as apartment communities to accommodate a variety of lifestyles. Staff and students give each residence a distinct personality.

The Heights is our newest and largest residential and dining complex. Located on the north end of campus, it offers single and double room suite accommodations for nearly 2,000 students, as well as 25,000 square feet of dining space. Completely wireless, The Heights features community kitchens, closed study areas, game and recreation spaces, outdoor community courtyards, and TV and common lounges.

Special Interest Living Communities

Many residential students make lifelong connections by living in special interest communities. Options include our First Year Connections living community, which brings incoming freshmen together; an international living community that hosts international students year-round; living communities for arts students or math and science majors, and more. One of them might be right for you.
