Working on campus is a convenient way to get experience, supplement your resume and generate income. Most campus offices need student workers and a range of positions is available, from working in a computer lab or the library to answering an office telephone to make appointments. Although job titles vary, positions are distinguished by their source of funding: Federal Work Study and Student Assistant. If you are a recipient of financial aid, you may receive Federal Work Study (FWS) funds and can apply for jobs that are listed as requiring those funds. Anyone can apply for Student Assistant jobs whose funding comes from individual office budgets. For your information, direct deposit of the salary you receive is available in both cases.
You can register online to view positions and print applications for positions that match your interests. The Center for Career Services & Cooperative Education posts on-campus jobs through the Career Directions, so all on-campus job listings (and others kinds of jobs), are available for students to see 24/7.
