Advanced Quantitative Methods in Psychology
- Certificate
The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Quantitative Methods in Psychology is designed to meet the growing demand for highly skilled researchers and data analysts in both academic and professional settings. Today’s behavioral and social sciences increasingly rely on advanced statistical modeling, modern data science, and innovative research design to drive discoveries and inform evidence-based practice. This STEM-Designated Degree Program equips graduate students with the expertise needed to thrive in that landscape.
Through this 15-credit program you will gain:
- Training in advanced quantitative methods and research design
- Hands-on experience with statistical programming (e.g., R, Python)
- Skills to analyze complex data sets and produce evidence-based insights
- Practice teaching quantitative methods or completing a data-analytic capstone
What sets this program apart is its focus on applying data-analytic tools to psychological science — bridging the gap between human behavior and quantitative rigor. Designed primarily for Psychology graduate students but open to related fields, the certificate positions you to stand out on the job market, pursue external research funding, and lead with confidence in both academic and professional roles. The program culminates in a capstone experience — either teaching an undergraduate statistics class or performing data-analytic research — giving you the opportunity to apply advanced skills in real-world settings and further distinguish yourself as a scholar and practitioner. See the Curriculum.
