Whether you’re new to HR or looking to formalize your experience, the online Human Resources Management Graduate Certificate at the Feliciano School of Business equips you with the skills to manage people strategically, support organizational goals, and navigate complex workplace challenges.

You’ll build a deep understanding of HR functions — from talent acquisition and retention to employee relations, coaching, and data-driven decision-making — while gaining insight into working with global teams and leveraging analytics to drive better business outcomes.

The academic program comprises six (1.5-credit) graduate-level courses, totaling nine credits, and is delivered fully online. Each course runs for seven weeks, giving you a flexible, accelerated path to earning your credential. See the curriculum.

Admission Requirements

  • Equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicants with non-U.S. degrees: Please visit the international applicants page to review U.S. degree equivalency information.
  • Students seeking an F1/J1 visa are not eligible for this certificate program unless they are currently pursuing a master’s degree at Montclair State University and are able to simultaneously pursue both programs while maintaining their student visa requirements.

Application Checklist

Application Deadline: Rolling Admission.

Must be completed two weeks prior to the first day of the semester. Completed applications should expect to receive an admission decision within 14 business days. Please note that the current semester is our priority, and if you applied 6 months or 1 year in advance, it can take up to 30 days or longer to receive a decision.

  1. Online Application: Submit application and $60 non-refundable fee (or waiver if applicable).
  2. Transcript: One from each college attended.
  3. Essays/Personal Statement: Answering the prompts below, please give specific examples of relevant coursework and/or experience.
    • What are your goals for graduate study and your future career?
    • In what ways do your academic background and your professional experiences provide evidence of your potential for success in the program you selected and in your eventual career?
    • Is there any further information we should consider in assessing your candidacy?
