The STEM-designated M.S. in Business Analytics at Montclair State University’s Feliciano School of Business, offered in both online and hybrid formats, equips you with advanced skills, hands-on experience, and the confidence to solve complex business challenges.

Led by faculty with industry expertise, the program blends theory with real-world application. Through a rigorous curriculum and an embedded capstone, you’ll build proficiency in statistical data analysis, data visualization, machine learning, and artificial intelligence using tools such as Python, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel. These capabilities are applied directly to solve complex business problems, while you also develop valuable connections with employers and professionals. You’ll also take a week-long domestic trip, allowing you to see how leading organizations apply analytics to their business.

This 30–31 credit cohort-based program can be completed:

  • Online for flexibility in as few as 21 months
  • Hybrid full-time for immersion in as few as 16-24 months
  • Accelerated 4+1 option for eligible Montclair undergraduates in as few as 12 months post undergraduate completion

Online

Designed for working professionals and students seeking maximum flexibility, this pathway allows you to complete the program in as few as 21 months with a Fall start. The program is delivered fully online, offering the flexibility to complete your degree without the need to be on campus. You will take the same rigorous courses taught by expert faculty as on-campus students, applying analytics to real business challenges. Interactive online coursework and projects keep you engaged and connected, while the embedded practicum provides valuable hands-on experience solving data-driven problems for real organizations.

Full Time Hybrid

The full-time hybrid option blends the flexibility of online coursework with the value of in-person classes. You may begin the Full-Time Hybrid program in Fall or Spring semesters and complete it in as few as 16-24 months. hs. This format allows you to engage directly with faculty and peers on campus while still enjoying the convenience of online learning. You will benefit from live interaction with faculty and peers, networking opportunities, and experiential components like the practicum course, where you apply analytics to real-world business projects. The hybrid pathway is ideal if you want the best of both worlds—face-to-face collaboration and the flexibility to balance school with work or other commitments.

Newly Accepted students to this program are required to successfully complete the online Basic Statistics Foundation Module prior to beginning the program and registering for program courses. The Basic Statistics Module is an online self-paced module (which you can anticipate will take 25-30 hours to complete) that serves to renew and/or update statistics knowledge in order to be prepared and successful in your program.

Admission Requirements

  • Equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicants with non-U.S. degrees: Please visit the international applicants page to review U.S. degree equivalency information.
  • We are seeking students with strong quantitative abilities and a desire to leverage analytical tools and technologies to uncover business solutions.
  • Newly Accepted students to this program are required to successfully complete an online Basic Statistics Foundation Module prior to beginning the program and registering for program courses. Application Deadline: Rolling admission.

  1. Online Application: Submit application and $60 non-refundable fee (or waiver if applicable).
  2. Transcript: One from each college attended.
  3. Essays/Personal Statement:
    • Please explain how pursuing a graduate program in business analytics is a fit with your work and educational background. If you plan to change careers, please describe your interest in business analytics and why you believe the program is right for you academically and professionally.
    • What are your career aspirations and what do you hope to gain from this program upon graduation?
  4. Resume: Required.
  5. Letters of Recommendation: Two required.
