Principal, Administrative Services Certification

Certificate

Two educational administrators walk together at Montclair State University.

If you’re ready to take on a leadership role and shape the vision of a school or district, Montclair’s Principal, Administrative Services Certification program will prepare you to lead with purpose.

Designed for experienced practitioners, this program meets the New Jersey Department of Education requirements for the Principal and Supervisor certifications. You’ll build expertise in instructional leadership, school management, and educational policy, while developing the skills to inspire teachers, support student success, and engage the wider community.

Coursework covers supervision and evaluation, data-driven decision-making, curriculum development, and strategies for creating equitable, inclusive school environments. You’ll learn from faculty who are seasoned education leaders, and you’ll apply your skills through field-based experiences that connect theory to practice.

The program is offered in a flexible format for working professionals, so you can advance your career without stepping away from your current role. Upon completion, you’ll be fully prepared to guide a school community and make a lasting impact on education in New Jersey.

If your next chapter involves leading at the building or district level, Montclair’s Principal, Administrative Services Certification program will help you get there. See the curriculum.
