My name is Devon Bishop, I am a Senior Team Member at the CHSS DMCL. I am currently enrolled in the 12-Month Accelerated MBA Program here at Montclair State University. I am an intern at a Mechanical Engineering Firm and hope to become a Project Manager in the Future. My main goal is to help in improving the lives of those in undeveloped communities through the use of new technologies. My hobbies include cooking, baking, exercising, reading and watching movies. During my time here at the DMCL I have been able to improve my skills in Microsoft and Adobe related products while also allowing me to develop my leadership skills while working as a mentor. These skills will be of great help to me in my future as a Project Manager.

Beyond my studies, I actively participate in numerous organizations such as UAASO, MUFASA, MSDC, Robotics, and the Computer Club. Additionally, I work as a research assistant at the Collaborative Robotics and Smart Systems Laboratory (CRoSS Lab) with the Department of Computer Science. In my free time, I love traveling, baking, dancing, and indulging in good food. “Hi everyone! My name is Dhruv. I am a second year majoring in Computer Science and I am a Senior Team Member at the CHSS Digital Media CoLab. After graduation, I plan to continue my path in education and get a M.S. in Computer Science. I plan to pursue a career in network administration, though I want to dabble in software development a little on the side, as it has always interested me a little. This is my second year working at DMcL and I hope to continue to work. I have learned a lot of skills in using various tools and applications, especially Adobe applications. But I also learned how to run, manage, and work in a team work environment, which will help me not only at my work, but also outside of college and in other fields I may find interest in. A fun fact about me is that I really enjoy eating food, especially spicy food, so I am learning how to cook and improve myself even more.”

“Hello everyone, I’m Chenyuan Hsu. I go by Julia or Yuan, and I’m a senior who will graduate in May 2023 with a major in communication and media art and a minor in visual art. I presently work on the weekends at Paris Baguette and participate in an internship program with Brandman Agency during the week. My objective in life is to work as a social media marketer. My three favorite hobbies are painting, cooking, and dancing. With the knowledge I gained from this work, I hope to be able to use Adobe to enhance my creative abilities.”

Minyae Mckenzie, Student Team Member

“Hello! My name is Minyae Mckenzie but most people call me Minnie. I am currently a full time MSU student with hopes of graduating in 2025. I am currently a communication intern at the DMcL and I also graduated from the Digital Skills Apprenticeship Program, now working with the DMcL as a Student Team Member. I am majoring in Social Media and PR. I hope to one day own my own business and or be a social media manager and help big brands with their online marketing/presence. Some of my hobbies include acting and singing. I currently also work with a non profit called Jumpstart. We help underprivileged schools for 3-4 years boost their education and social/emotional skills. With this job I hope to further my abilities in editing and digital media creation to help my artistic side come through and to be further equipped for my profession.”

My name is Paige Santos and I am an Operations & Management Intern at the DMcL. I’m currently a junior majoring in International Business and minoring in English. This internship has given me hands-on experience in technology, project management and business communications that I know will be useful in the future. Post-graduation, I hope to find a career where I can combine my knowledge of business and my love for writing and language. I am passionate about environmentalism and would love to have a job where I can be confident my work is having a positive impact on the world. In my spare time, I love reading books and writing poetry.

My name is Diana Reyes and I am the Digital Media Support intern for this spring semester. I am a Communications and Media student with a minor in film, looking to graduate in Fall of 2024. I am very excited to work as a Digital Media support intern, since apart from learning the technical skills this program offers, I also see myself being a positive impact to the team by collaborating with my peers and sharing ideas that can be useful for other interns. I look to use this experience for both academically and professionally purposes, as my main goal is to work in the advertising and creative side of businesses.

Ella Rising, Production Coordinator Intern

My name is Ella Rising and I am a sophomore from North Carolina. I am a production coordinator intern at the DMCL. I am a communications major and I decided to go to Montclair State for its amazing communications school and its close proximity to the city. I grew up playing basketball so I love watching and playing sports. I am also a sister of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority at Montclair. I am excited for this internship as it will be a great learning experience for me. I am eager to hone in my skills regarding video production. I will use these skills to hopefully work in TV production or sports media production.

Jasmin Bureny, Production Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Jasmin, but everyone calls me Jas for short. I am a transfer student in my junior year and the Producer for The Pulse and 5 Minutes With. When I’m not busy working, I like to write short stories, do nails, go on walks, sing, and work out. What I’m hoping to get out of this program is; the ability to meet and network with peers, the chance to learn new skills as well as refine my own, the opportunity to produce a podcast episode, and the knowledge of producing a podcast so that I can one day produce my own. With the skills I learn during this program, I will eventually go on to create, write, and produce a scripted series (which will win an Emmy!).
