Teachers of Latin in New Jersey schools, bring your students to Montclair State University’s 2018 Classics Day celebration from 8:30 AM to 1:20 PM on Friday, October 26!  Classics Day is an annual event sponsored by the Department and by the Institute for the Humanities.  This year’s edition — the thirtieth, since its inception in 1989 — includes talks by Montclair State University’s Classics faculty on the land of the dead in Classical literature and in contemporary film, the use of new technologies in archaeology, the image of Alexander the Great, and Aristophanes’ comedy Lysistrata.  The program culminates in a written contest on Roman history and culture, mythology, and Latin grammar, with prizes awarded to the best school teams.  The complete program and registration form is attached.
