Environmental Science and Management PhD student Taylor Wieczerak won 2nd place in the Graduate Student Paper competition, at the Middle States American Association of Geographers annual meeting, hosted virtually by Hofstra University on the weekend of October 16-17. Wieczerak’s paper presentation was entitled, Public Perception and Willingness to Pay for Green Infrastructure and Improvements in Northern New Jersey Using Discrete Choice Experiment. The competition was judged by the executive committee of the MSAAG. The work, a component of his dissertation research, entails the investigation of “combined sewer overflows” (CSOs) as storm water management in our urban areas, suggested alternatives that are both cost effective and environmentally safer, and public willingness and attitudes toward this infrastructure renovation.
