Search Committee Education

Montclair State University is committed to recruiting a workforce that reflects the diversity and talents of New Jersey, the larger metropolitan area, and the nation. The University therefore seeks to recognize and draw upon the talents of a diverse range of outstanding faculty and staff, and to foster the free exploration and expression of differing ideas, beliefs and perspectives through scholarly inquiry and civil discourse.

Thank you for your interest in joining a Search Committee. Search Committees play a prominent role in achieving the University’s commitment to fair and inclusive hiring practices. All Search Committee members, therefore, must complete the self-directed Search Committee Compliance Training facilitated by The Office of Inclusive Excellence. The self-directed training is now available on Vector Solutions Learning Management System. Each Search Committee member must complete this self-directed training requirement annually, and before the candidate, interviews begin. Attendance will be tracked, and search committee members will be compliant for one fiscal year.

Access Search Committee Training

Search committee training may be accessed:

Your NETID will be required to access this training. You will be redirected to the Vector Solutions Site to complete this training. You must complete all modules and receive a certificate of completion. Completion of the annual training is required before candidate interviewing may begin.

Search Committee members who participate in more than one search during an academic year shall attest to completion in Workday’s “To Do” section. The Office of Inclusive Excellence will verify. You do not need to send a copy of your completed training to the Inclusive Excellence staff.

Upon completion of the self-directed training, search committee members will be invited to join periodic Question & Answers forums related to the training content to supplement search committee member’s learning. We encourage your participation in this optional session.
