About the Department

Mission

The Department of Kinesiology is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities using a multidisciplinary approach and by providing rigorous academic programs in exercise science, sports administration, physical education, and athletic training that lead to various careers in teaching, athletic training, strength and conditioning, clinical exercise physiology, research, coaching, fitness leadership and other health and sport services. Our undergraduate and graduate programs reflect the overall mission of providing academic excellence in the classroom, laboratory, and gymnasium, with a focus on fitness and wellness promotion.

The Department of Kinesiology’s vision is to establish itself as a leading program in New Jersey, preparing future exercise science professionals, health and physical education teachers, and athletic trainers.
