Profile
As the Assistant Director of Student Success in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, I am dedicated to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically and professionally. My role involves overseeing and supporting various initiatives aimed at enhancing student success and career development.
Responsibilities include:
-Advise a caseload of over 300 undergraduate students, with a special focus on supporting transfer students in their academic and career journeys
-Managing logistics and curriculum for the Career Development Course (CHSC 299)
-Coordinating the CHSS unpaid internship stipend, including marketing, promotion, selection, and notification of awardees
-Supporting the Assistant Dean and Director of Career Development with the daily operations of the CHSS Student Success Center, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
-Serve on the Workday Advising and Curriculum committee and Faculty Advisory Committee for CHSS.
Specialization
With over 14 years of experience, I have a proven track record in program design, implementation, assessment, and improvement. I enjoy turning problems into possibilities and I have a knack for organizing and systematizing processes.
My extensive training in cultural competence, diversity issues, and conflict reconciliation has equipped me to thrive in challenging environments. I am intellectually flexible, relationship-oriented, and committed to fostering growth and development in all my endeavors.
With extensive experience working in both community college and university settings, I have honed my skills in helping students navigate the complex systems of higher education. I am passionate about creating inclusive and supportive environments where every student can succeed.
