Policies and Procedures for Establishing Off-Campus Courses and Extension Services

1. All requests to establish courses and provide services off-campus shall be directed to the Associate Provost for Academic Programs and Assessment at least one semester prior to implementation. The Provost will, with the appropriate offices:

a. Review the requests, determine the availability of funds and faculty, establish the conditions and procedures for meeting the requests, coordinate the arrangements, and issue a formal offer of intent or contract to the agency initiating the request.
b. Secure the approval of appropriate department chair and college/school dean for courses, necessary faculty and arrangements to be made in meeting the request.
c. Inform appropriate department chairs and college/school deans of the status of all off-campus courses and services, particularly (1) cancellations, (2) registration arrangements, (3) enrollments, (4) scheduling.

2. Faculty assignments will be made in accordance with the existing contract and University policies and procedures.

3. Students will be admitted to off-campus courses and programs in accordance with the standards prescribed for on-campus courses and programs.
