Honors Scholarships

In recognition of your achievements and promise, new first-year Honors EDGE students are eligible for a range of exclusive scholarship opportunities. You’re invited to apply for these internal Honors scholarships each year, in one-year awards ranging from $250 to $3,500, including:

  • The John and Irma Sheffman Scholarship Fund
    • Awarded to an entering first-year student who has declared a major within The College of Science and Mathematics.
  • The Mary A. Whaley Memorial Scholarship Fund
    • Awarded to an exceptional first-year student who may not qualify for Financial Aid.
  • The Louis Eckstein Memorial Scholarship Fund
    • Awarded to a new, entering first-year student in the Honors EDGE Program.
  • The Mulford Scholarship Fund
    • Awarded to first-year students entering from a Montclair-area high school.

More than 25 of these scholarships are awarded to our students each year and Honors students may apply again after having received previous awards, through their junior year. At this time, Honors EDGE is unable to offer any four-year scholarship(s) to our students.

Other Scholarship Programs

Montclair State University has several scholarship programs that are not associated with Honors EDGE. You can learn more about these scholarships through Red Hawk Central. Most prominent among these are the University’s merit-based Presidential Scholarships, awarded to high-achieving incoming first-year students.
