Advocacy & Outreach

Advocacy and Outreach Programs (A&O) supports Montclair State University in building and enhancing an inclusive campus climate through intersectional and community-focused education, engagement and resource-sharing specific to queer, cultural, interfaith, and gender-based communities.

Programs and Resource Centers are open to ALL members of the University!

What We Do

  • Large-scale events celebrating culturally relevant holidays and observances including flag raisings
  • Small-scale identity-specific programs and peer-led discussion groups
  • Workshops and trainings geared toward greater understanding and exploration of identities and systems
  • Provide access to basic needs via the utilization of two resource centers: Red Hawk Pantry and Rocky’s Clothing Closet
  • Assist students with identity exploration, cultural immersion and leadership development
  • Build companionships amongst peers
  • Provide experiential learning on and off campus

Culturally Relevant Holidays and Observances

Our amazing campus partners in the Department of Religion have also provided the Montclair community with a Multifaith Religious Observances Calendar in accordance with the Religious Holidays Policy.
