Softball Ousted from NJAC Championship

Little Falls, NJ ( 5/5/07 ) – Senior shortstop Michele Rossi belted a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth that turned out to be the difference as second-seeded and No. 20 Ramapo College ousted top-seeded and fourth-ranked Montclair State from the 2007 New Jersey Athletic Conference Softball Championship with a 4-3 victory in Game 8 of the tournament at the MSU Softball Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Freshman leftfielder Kelly Nance was 2-for-4 with a solo home run for Montclair State , which dropped to 35-6 with loss. The Red Hawks must now wait to see if they are selected as an at-large team to the NCAA Division III Championship which gets underway on Thursday, May 10.
