Update: 1/24, 12:00 p.m.
Shuttle Services: Service will resume at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24.
Sprague Library: The library opened at 12:00 p.m. today.
The snowstorm certainly packed a wallop in both the amount of snow and the accompanying winds.
The men and women of University Facilities have been working around the clock to tackle over two feet of snow, and it’s still accumulating. Special thanks to them, the University Police Department, Residence Life, the EMS Squad and Dining Services for all their hard work during this blizzard.
Update On Services
Roads/Sidewalks/Surface Lots: Facilities crews are still working to clear the snow from roads and pavements. All cars should remain in either Car Parc Diem or the Red Hawk parking decks. Cars should not be moved to surface lots until Sunday evening when the lots are clear, but prior to 8:00 on Monday, January 25.
If you are walking on campus, please use extra caution. Wear appropriate footwear, hats, gloves, etc. The wind is causing snow drifting and making surfaces very slippery.
Dining: The following dining venues will be open on Sunday, January 24 at:
- Red Hawk Diner: 8:00 a.m.
- Sam’s Place: 9:30 a.m.
- Freeman Dining: 10:00 a.m.
- Dunkin Donuts @ Blanton Hall: 8:00 a.m.
- WhichWich & Chili’s @ Blanton Hall: 11:00 a.m.
Student Recreation Center: The Recreation Center will open at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24.
Student Center: The Student Center will open at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24.
Peak Performances: The Alexander Kasser Theater will be open for the 3:00 p.m. performance of "The Book of Disquiet."
As conditions evolve, updates on campus services will be posted on the University website and via email.
The Next Couple Of Days
While this storm will end soon, winter conditions will continue, so we all need to remember to take extra time for travel to and from campus, and also when walking around campus.
