Matt Benchener (Newtown, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) and Chris Husiman (Davidsonville, MD/Archbishop Spalding) each drove in two runs as the Blue Jays improved to 28-4 with their fourth straight win over the Red Hawks to cut MSU’s lead in the series to 12-7.

Johns Hopkins jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Montclair State would get a turn at bat. Brian Youchak reached on an error and after a strikeout, Todd Emr drew a walk before Margve connected on a 1-0 pitch for a three-run home run, his first of the season.

MSU left the bases loaded in the bottom of the second, but the Red Hawks were able to get two runs across in the third as Bowness smacked an RBI single through the right side and Clark walked with the bases load, however that would be all MSU would get until the eighth inning when Cuozzi lofted a sacrifice fly for the final run of the game.

Meanwhile, Johns Hopkins would add a run in the fourth on an RBI double by Lee Bolyard (Burke, VA / Lake Braddock) and collected three more the following inning. Johns Hopkins put up three more runs in the sixth as Ryan Biner (Crystal Lake, IL/Prairie Ridge) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Benchener brought home two with a single as JHU led 10-2. After MSU’s run in bottom of the eighth, Husiman provided the final scoring with a two-run bloop double to left.

Senior righthander Brian Duddie (San Diego, CA/Mt. Carmel) picked up the win to move to 5-0 as he went the first three innings before six relievers closed out the game. Senior righthander D.J. Cunningham (Florham Park, NJ / Hanover Park) took the loss as he fell to 3-3.

Bolyard, Benchener, Brian Youchak (Pittsburgh, PA / Vincentian Academy), and Emr all had two hits for the Blue Jays, who collected 16 in the game.
