World/ Inferno Friendship Society at Peak Performances on September 19 and 20

Group to perform “Addicted to Bad Ideas: Peter Lorre’s 20th Century”

The World/ Inferno Friendship Society comes to the Alexander Kasser Theater on Friday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. with Addicted to Bad Ideas: Peter Lorre’s 20th Century. Tickets for this punk rock-inspired performance are $15.

Legendary Brooklyn punk group World/Inferno Friendship Society (WIFS) joins forces with Jay Scheib, one of contemporary theatre’s brightest young directors, to create a cabaret punk-rock operetta for our times. Continuing the evolution of the genre via the ultimate 20th century archetype of alienation, Peter Lorre; WIFS dedicates a furious song cycle following Lorre’s unheralded existence from his days with Wedekind and Brecht through the cycle of World Wars to a pitiless fall from grace within the drug-infused quagmire of Hollywood. Led by Jack Terricloth (formerly of Sticks and Stones), WIFS paints a picture of the twentieth century from the outsider’s eye via a multimedia spectacle.
