Siljee Named NJAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Montclair, NJ (1/19/09) – Freshman guard Paul Siljee (Wayne, NJ / Wayne Valley) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Siljee becomes the first Red Hawk to be named Rookie of the Week by the league and the third MSU player to be honored by the conference this season.

Siljee earns NJAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 9.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week of conference play for the Red Hawks. He opened the week by sparking MSU off the bench with five points and three rebounds in only 12 minutes of action during the Red Hawks’ 62-61 NJAC victory over Rutgers-Newark. He wrapped up the week with a career-high 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field during MSU’s 69-63 NJAC defeat to Richard Stockton.

In 12 games played for the Red Hawks on the season, Siljee is averaging 4.1 points per contest.
