Bosland Named NJAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

Montclair, NJ (9/7/09) – Freshman goalkeeper Megan Bosland (Boonton, NJ / Boonton) earned the first weekly accolade for Montclair State this season as she was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Bosland earns the first NJAC Rookie of the Week selection after registering 82 minutes in net without surrendering a goal during her first week of collegiate play.

In the first game of her collegiate career, she entered a 1-1 contest in the second half and notched a pair of saves to hold Union scoreless as MSU secured a 2-1 overtime win for their first victory of the season. One day later, she notched three saves in 35 minutes of action during the Red Hawks’ 7-0 blanking of Rensselaer.

Bosland currently is tied for the conference lead in both goals against average (0.00) and save percentage (1.000).
