Montclair, NJ -- Montclair State University, named by Forbes as the top public institution of higher education in New Jersey, recently announced a sweeping series of changes to existing technology -- The Bell Tower Initiative -- to begin implementation immediately. In partnership with business software giant Oracle, the transition to new systems in all areas of University operation will take place over the next two years.
Referring to the initiative, Montclair State President Susan A. Cole said, "We remain committed to providing our students, faculty, and staff with networking, computing, and classroom technology resources that are second to none among our peers." She continued, "The Bell Tower Initiative has been designed to meet the needs of our growing University and to assure the quality of education and experience that all our students deserve.
The two-year implementation will include Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management, PeopleSoft Enterprise Supply Chain Management, PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management, PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management Warehouse, and PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions Warehouse, as well as Oracle's Hyperion Planning.
According to Edward V. Chapel, vice president for Information Technology, this integrated solution will provide Montclair State with a system that supports agility, innovation, and enhanced decision making -- sustaining the growth and business transformation that the University plans to undertake.
"The new Oracle system will enable us to bring our data management systems to the highest level of capability to match the growth and achievement of the University in all other areas and represents a sea change in operations and communications at the University," said Chapel.
