Freshman Niyi Adenugba (North Brunswick, NJ / North Brunswick) took second in both the triple jump and high jump as the Red Hawks registered 89 points in the meet.
Brown, the NCAA runner-up in the hurdles last year, ran 15.07 in the preliminaries, but came back stronger in the finals as he crossed in a time of 14.85 seconds, .03 better than the NCAA provisional mark. Jarman Esperance (Nyack, NY / Nyack) placed sixth in the same event with a time of 15.75 seconds.
Gingerelli also earned his way onto the NCAA provisional list as he took the javelin with a throw of 58.27 meters. Adenugba was second in the high jump at 1.90 meters and then produced the same result in the triple jump as he leaped 13.55 meters. Terea Hargrove (Springfield, NJ / Jonathan Dayton) was fourth in the event (13.11 meters) and also finished sixth in the long jump (6.24 meters) and 14th in the 100 meters (11.69 seconds).
Thrower Mario Morrison-Bird (West Orange, NJ / West Orange) also registered a pair of second-place finishes in the discus (45.33 meters) and shot put (14.58 meters). Bird led five MSU competitors in the Top 12 in the shot put as Jon Tancer (Montville, NJ / Montville) placed third (13.75 meters), James Luginsland (Bridgewater, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) fifth (12.76 meters), David Helterbran III (Sewell, NJ / Washington Township) sixth (12.61 meters) and Michael Johnson (Boonton, NJ / Mountain Lakes) in 11th (11.22 meters).
On the track, senior Terry Iavarone (North Arlington, NJ / North Arlington) finished second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.12 while Eric Gershey (Parsippany, NJ / Parsippany Hills) was 18th in the 400 meters (54.24 seconds).
The Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, April 10 as they head to Ichan Stadium on Randall’s Island for the New York Relays.
