Beal Named Rookie of the Year as Women's Lacrosse Puts Five on All-NJAC Team

Montclair, NJ (5/11/10) – Freshman attack Kailee Beal (Succasunna, NJ / Roxbury) was named the Rookie of the Year leading five players on the All-Conference Team as Montclair State placed a total of five on the 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team released on Tuesday.

Beal was also named to the First Team along with sophomore Cora Delfini (New Egypt, NJ / New Egypt) and defender Ashley Krzysik (Landing, NJ / Roxbury). Senior Morgan MacPhee (Toms River, NJ / Toms River East) and freshman goalkeeper Tiffani Henderson (Landing, NJ / Roxbury) were selected to the Second Team.

Beal, who also collected Rookie of the Year honors last week from the Skyline Conference, was the lone freshman named to the First Team. A two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week selection, Beal currently ranks 13th in the NJAC in draw controls per game (1.94) and 18th in the league in points per game (2.35).

Delfini earns her second straight All-NJAC selection as she is currently ranked in the Top 10 in five different categories. She is fifth in goals per game (49) and points per contest (66) and ranks ninth in assists with 17. In addition she has collected 35 ground balls, 34 draws and forced 22 turnovers. Delfini was a two-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Week selection during the season.

Krzysik leads as Montclair State defense that leads the NJAC in goals allowed at 7.35 per contest. Named the Defensive Player of the Week twice, Krzysik ranks fifth in the conference in ground balls with 37 and has forced 23 turnovers which is fourth in the NJAC.

MacPhee is tied for third in the conference in goals per game (49 in 17 contests) and is seventh in points with 55 while leading the league in game-winning tallies with four. She has also collected 33 draws, which is 11th-best in the NJAC.

Henderson currently leads the NJAC in save percentage (.505) and is second in goals against average at 8.05 per outing. She is third with 108 saves.
