On April 14, the Montclair State Department of Athletics celebrated National Student-Athlete Day at the Red Hawks’ softball doubleheader with Baruch College.
Between games of the twinbill at the MSU Softball Stadium the department recognized student-athletes who not only achieved plenty of success on the playing field but in the classroom as well. A total of 148 athletes representing all 17 Montclair State sports were honored for achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
In addition, the Red Hawks also inducted the eighth class into the National College Athlete Honor Society Chi Alpha Sigma. Twenty-six new members were added to the Honor Society which recognizes those of junior or senior status (60 credits or more) who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or higher.
