Montclair, NJ (9/13/11) – Running back Chris D’Andrea (Union, NJ / Union) added another accolade to his outstanding season-opening performance as he was chosen to the D3Football.com "Team of the Week".
D'Andrea returned to the Montclair State lineup after missing the
final eight games of the 2010 campaign with an injury. He kicked off his
senior season by rushing 21 times for 239 yards and a pair of touchdown
runs of 44 and 75 yards apiece as Montclair State downed Salve Regina,
18-7.
He also contributed in the passing game with two receptions for 14
yards despite playing just the first three quarters of the game.
D’Andrea, who averaged 11.4 yards per carry in the victory, currently
leads the NJAC in both rushing yards (239.0) and all-purpose yards
(253.0) per game. D'Andrea also leads the nation in rushing yards per
game and is ranked fifth in all-purpose yards per contest.
