Sigma Sigma Sigma and Phi Sigma Sigma Sororities Raise $2,000 in One Night

On December 5, 2011 Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority teamed up with Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority to host their annual Cabaret for a Cause.  The purpose of the Cabaret is to raise awareness and money for various charitable organizations.  Cabaret for a Cause features dance and singing performances, door prizes, and education.  This fun filled night was able to raise $2,000 for 2011 chosen charity: Cooley's Anemia.

Thalassemia, better known as Cooley's Anemia, "is a blood disorder passed down through families (inherited) in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The disorder results in excessive destruction of red blood cells, which leads to anemia." (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).
