A Message from the University Police Department

February 3, 2012

To the Montclair State University Community

On Tuesday, February 7, the University will be open, and all classes, events and other activities will be held as scheduled. However, in response to recent events, you will notice a highly visible police presence on campus, and extensive security measures will be in place, some of which may be visible to you and some which will not be visible.

President Cole has designated February 7th as Montclair State University Day of Unity. A Unity Rally will be held in the Student Center Quad from noon to 4 p.m., and you are encouraged to join the campus community in this shared expression of our values.

We will keep the campus informed and take whatever actions are necessary to safeguard the University community. Please stay connected through the regular University communication channels, including the MSU Website, email, and text messages. If you have not already done so, students and employees are encouraged to sign up for University text alerts at http://oit.montclair.edu/documentation/msu_apps/phone_apps/YourMSUAppInstructionManual.pdf. We also ask that you program University Police’s main number 973-655-5222 into your cell phone and keep a copy of the number near your landline phone. If you hear, see or learn of anything that concerns you, please call.
