College of Humanities and Social Sciences Holds Convocation Ceremony

Montclair State University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences held its Convocation ceremony on Saturday, May 12 at the University’s Sprague Field. The stands were filled with the family and friends of many of the 1,161 candidates slated to receive baccalaureate degrees from the College.

Brian Lehrer, host of WNYC Radio’s award-winning daily call-in program, The Brian Lehrer Show, delivered the Convocation address and received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from the University.

President Susan A. Cole, Board of Trustees member John McGoldrick, and Dean Marietta Morrissey offered words of greeting, and Fabio P. Simao delivered the student address. Assistant Dean Jeffrey Indiveri-Gant presented the College’s Academic Achievement and Service Award to Juan Esteban Villegas.
