Amici Club Trip to the Italian American Museum/Little Italy in NYC

The MSU Amici Club poses for a group photo outside of the Italian American Museum, alongside their guide, Marie Palladino.

Sponsored by the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), the MSU Amici Club hosted a trip to the Italian American Museum in Little Italy, held on Saturday, April 12th. The tour featured a guided walking tour of Little Italy, beginning at the Italian American Museum on Mulberry Street, and stopping at historical points of interest including The Shrine Church of the Most Precious Blood, E.Rossi & Company, Ferrara Bakery and Cafe, Sons of Italy Way, Di Palo Fine Foods, WWII Veteran’s Plaque, and with a conclusion of the tour at Petrosino Square.

Following the tour, students had an exclusive visit to the museum, where they watched a documentary on the Manteo Family puppets and then explored the exhibit. Students also had some free time to roam around Little Italy, discovering different shops and local eateries before returning to campus.

Students received an exclusive tour of the Manteo Family puppet exhibition at the Italian American Museum.

Grazie ancora to NIAF for sponsoring this educational opportunity for the MSU Amici Club! This trip was made possible through the NIAF on Campus Program, of which the MSU Amici Club has been two-time fellows and recipients of a generous grant.
