Students in the Amici Club

Amici Club

The Amici Club is a student-run organization at Montclair State University, whose mission is to celebrate the Italian spirit through culturally enriching events. Welcome to all amici: both Italian Americans and those who are passionate about the culture and language.”

After a hiatus, the club was reinstated in Spring 2023 due to student interest in extending their passion of the Italian language and culture to others. Since Spring 2023, the Amici Club has offered unique events on campus, including on-campus screenings of “My Cousin Vinny,” Disney’s “Luca,” and “Moonstruck,” as well as their antipasto-board making night, bake sales, and their annual holiday party. The Amici Club also organized an on-campus live-streamed watch party of the 2023 Coppa Italia semi-finals. Members of the Amici Club actively attend Coccia Institute events and serve as Student Ambassadors on behalf of the Italian Program.

In Fall 2023 and Fall 2024, the Amici Club was selected as a two-time NIAF on Campus Fellow, where it was awarded a grant in the amount of $1,500 to present academically-focused events to the campus community and beyond. The Amici Club hosted a trip to the Italian American Museum/Little Italy in NYC courtesy of the NIAF on Campus Program.
