It’s no secret that Rob Lieberman is an avid promoter of Montclair State. Heralding the University for years, the advertising and marketing executive is deeply vested in promoting students’ education.

So much so that family members worked with the University Development team to surprise him: recognizing his generosity and commitment to Montclair State students by dedicating Room 130 in the Feliciano School of Business as the “Robert Jay Lieberman Student Clubs Room.”

Lieberman’s wife Barbara, his son Andy and wife Lori, along with some of his grandchildren were among those on hand for the room unveiling and presentation of a commemorative plaque that reads: “Rob is a proud Montclair resident who is passionate about supporting students in their quest to achieve their dreams at Montclair State University. Rob started his own company, All-Ways Advertising, over 50 years ago and loves to share his knowledge and passion with the many interns he has mentored.”

“The Robert Jay Lieberman Student Clubs Room is a dedicated space in the Feliciano School of Business for student organizations to meet, mingle, plan programs, events and much more,” says Colleen Coppla, Vice President for Development. “Many of the students who were part of a student club may have been mentored by Rob, and so it is fitting to name this room for him. We look forward to many more years of Rob’s commitment to helping our students reach their full potential.”

“I have particularly enjoyed working with young people over the years. Helping them achieve their goals by sharing my knowledge and experience is my way of paying forward the success I have enjoyed,” says Lieberman. “Watching the next generation grow in their chosen profession is truly a rewarding experience.”

Lieberman is the owner and president of All-Ways Advertising Company in Bloomfield. Founded in 1969, All-Ways serves as a full service promotional advertising and marketing agency delivering customized product solutions to help clients connect with their employees and customers. A past winner of the Inc. Magazine “Entrepreneur of the Year” award, he has a deep understanding and appreciation for the role of business in society.

He established and endowed the Robert J. Lieberman Advertising Scholarship to give students an opportunity to gain experience and build the skills necessary to excel in the marketing and advertising industry. The scholarship financially assists undergraduate and graduate students majoring in marketing or advertising, and each year since 2012, he has provided internships at his company. He has served as a board member of the Montclair State University Foundation since 2005.

“I have an allegiance to Montclair State and rely on the university for capable, enthusiastic, eager and very responsible interns,” says Lieberman. “It’s a remarkable feeling to provide opportunities for students and to see the difference it makes in their lives.”

In all ways, Lieberman is all in. In addition to his commitment to scholarships and internships, he regularly supports the University with sponsorships for annual golf outings and fundraising events. He is a member of the Carpe Diem Society, recognizing individuals who establish legacy gifts for the University. Appreciating how much Lieberman loves Montclair State, his family members often make donations in his honor to celebrate milestones throughout the year, such as Father’s Day, his birthday and the holidays.

“We are grateful for Rob’s enthusiasm, dedication and many contributions. He is always eager to serve the University,” says Coppla. “Through his long-standing service and generous support, he creates life-changing opportunities for students and helps the University be its best.”
